GP Training

We are an Oxford Region training practice and usually have a GP registrar with us for a year's training. GP registrars are qualified doctors who have undergone substantial training in a hospital and then spend a year in an appointed general practice before settling down in a partnership.

Since August 2004 Rectory Meadow has also been selected to take part in a scheme whereby more recently qualified doctors spend four months in general practice. We will therefore welcome three of these young doctors on rotation in a year. Occasionally, video recordings of consultations are made for teaching purposes; these are viewed only by doctors. You will always be told when a video is being made. Please tell us if you would rather not take part.

As a training practice, Rectory Meadow is regularly assessed by other doctors from outside the district. They do need to view some medical records. If you are unhappy with this, please let us know and we will ensure that your records are not used for assessment purposes.
